Memory Nurture programme

Cognitive Stimulation

Cognitive stimulation is a non-pharmacological intervention specifically designed to enhance cognitive functioning and promote social interaction among individuals with dementia. At Memory Nurture, we offer a range of group-based activities that target various cognitive domains, including memory, attention, language, and problem-solving. Our Cognitive Stimulation Services work by providing structured cognitive activities, encouraging social interaction, and leveraging the brain’s neuroplasticity to improve cognitive functioning and enhance the overall quality of life for individuals experiencing memory loss.

About Our Approaches

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is an evidence-based non-pharmacological intervention that aims to enhance cognitive functioning and social interaction in individuals with dementia. Through structured group activities targeting various cognitive domains, such as memory, attention, language, and problem-solving, we leverage neuroplasticity to improve cognitive abilities and enhance the overall quality of life for those experiencing memory loss.  This can be delivered either in a group-based setting or part of individual therapy.  Additionally, we integrate other evidence-based cognitive stimulating approaches to enhance the effectiveness of the intervention.

Other approaches include:

  • Ashby Memory Method [AMM]: Is an evidence-based, structured program of interactive cognitive exercises or activities designed for individuals experience memory loss, including early to moderate Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and stroke.
  • Online Brain Training Games: Also known as cognitive training or brain training, are activities or exercises and designed to stimulate and challenge cognitive functions, such as memory, attention, problem-solving and reasoning.
